About Oven Mitt Kids!
Oven Mitt Kids! was served up by Jacqueline Sieracki when she discovered the perfect recipe for combining her love of kids with her love of cooking. She has designed an experience for kids that mixes fun into learning about food, nutrition and basic cooking skills. Jacqueline believes a kitchen setting provides the perfect creative and educational environment that allows kids to further develop self-confidence, independence and social interaction. Learning how to cook has the possibility of inspiring a lifelong appreciation for food and good nutritional habits.
Oven Mitt Kids! is a natural expansion from Jacqueline’s passion for art to the culinary arts. Having earned her degree in Business and Merchandise Management, Jacqueline spent most of her twenty-year career in the retail industry as a buyer and Director of Stores for one of the top ten U.S. galleries of Fine American Craft. She discovered her passion for bringing people and art together, especially young people. Her favorite question to answer was, ‘How did the artist make it?’
Jacqueline’s move to Scottsdale, Arizona, eight years ago, sparked an exploration of other closely held interests. She became involved in Valley community organizations as a mentor for young people and discovered her enjoyment of teaching. She had always known that her great interest in and enjoyment of food and cooking was similar to how she felt about sharing her love of art. To test her theory, Jacqueline knocked on the door of a Phoenix restaurant owned by a James Beard Award-winning chef and was hired as an evening hostess. She found herself immersed in an elegant, energizing ambience and surrounded by beautiful food and happy patrons. Most of all, she found herself working alongside professional, talented and passionate people who love what they do, every day!
Recently, Jacqueline was given the privileged opportunity to begin working in the kitchen where she makes the salads for the Sunday and Monday lunch crowds! With her feet firmly in her kitchen clogs and plenty of entrepreneurial spirit, Jacqueline is excited to share her passion for cooking with kids!
