Schedule of Classes

Oven Mitt Kids! cooking classes for kids mix the perfect ingredients of learning, food and fun!  Kids will experience following a complete recipe from start to finish, ending in the creation of their own culinary works of art!  They’ll enjoy the activity of a hands-on process as they get messy working with the ingredients and practicing basic cooking skills.  Best of all, kids will get to eat what they’ve made in the company of new friends!  We hope you’ll join us.

At Press, City Center North:

Oven Mitt Kids! celebrates Spring with an introduction to Greek cookery! “Meze”, meaning “middle” or “in-between”, is also the name given to the special small plates or snacks enjoyed between main the meals of the day.

Class Guidelines

Oven Mitt Kids! classes are held at Press Coffee Food Wine.  The address is 5410 East High Street, Phoenix, Arizona, 85054. Press is located in CityCenter of CityNorth, see directions below. We may be contacted at (480) 278-2066.

Your child’s safety and health are the most important responsibilities in the world to us.  We conduct our classes at a retail food establishment that utilizes a licensed, professional kitchen subject to City code safety regulations and health inspections.

Our class size is no larger than eight students within a three to four-year age range of each other.  This class size allows our instructor(s) to teach and supervise effectively while being hands-on with each child’s project.   

Kids should come dressed in clothes that are comfortable and o.k. to get chocolate and tomato sauce-stained messy!

Please know that we will do our best to accommodate any dietary needs or restrictions your child may have.  This may in the form of simply substituting an ingredient or suggesting an upcoming class that features a recipe more suitable for your child.

Our facilities are not nut, nut oil-free or kosher.  We cannot guarantee that any of our food products are nut, nut oil, wheat and dairy-free or kosher.

Please do not send your child to class if he or she is not well.

Directions to Press Coffee Food Wine

Oven Mitt Kids! classes are held at Press Coffee Food Wine, located at 5410 High Street at the exciting new entertainment and retail venue, CityCenter of CityNorth, in northeast Pheonix. Thank you to the owners of Press and their team for providing us with a friendly, comfortable and happening place for our classes!

Citycenter of CityNorth is located off the 101 North Freeway, at the edge of North Scottsdale, next to Deset Ridge Marketplace. You may take either the Tatum Boulevard or 56th Street exits to Deer Valley Drive. CityNorth is on the south side of Deer Valley Drive, east of Desert Ridge Marketplace. Turn into CityCenter at 54th Street and then turn east onto High Street. Press Coffee Food Wine is located on the corner at the end of the first block on the north side of the street. There are parking spaces up and down High Street as well as a convenient parking garage on the south end of 54th Street.

Waiver

We want to ensure that everyone who participates in an Oven Mitt Kids! class has a nice time and enjoys a safe experience.  Please review the following information.  A hard copy of our Oven Mitt Kids! Waiver will be presented to you for your signature at the time you bring your child to class. We can't wait to meet you! Thank you!

Oven Mitt Kids! Assumption of Risk, Release, Waiver and Indemnification

I am the parent or legal guardian of the child or children named in this form.

I hereby acknowledge, agree and accept the risk of injury and illness inherent in any physical activity and/or program, including, specifically, the program offered by Oven Mitt Kids!  Such risks may include but are not limited to risks associated with preparing and eating many types of food and being in a kitchen with an oven and other electrical equipment with other children and adults.  As such, I hereby release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Oven Mitt Kids! and Press Coffee Food Wine, its owners, affiliates, agents, employees, contractors and teachers from any and all injuries, illnesses, medical conditions, damages, claims, liabilities, expenses or judgments, including attorney’s fees and court costs resulting from my, my child’s or caregiver’s participation in a program or presence at an Oven Mitt Kids! class.
